Evaluation „Dialogue with Citizens Future Technologies“

In many cases, future technologies are a controversial matter in society. But public understanding and public acceptance of these technologies are necessary conditions for their sustainability and their assertiveness. In this context dialogue processes play a decisive role. They communicate technology and science in an interactive way with the objective of arousing public understanding for research, science and technologies among the largest possible number of people. The solution is a factual debate, which provides confidence and acceptance. The Federal Ministry of Education and Research supports the project “Dialogue with Citizens Future Technologies” to achieve these objectives. For instance, themes like Neuronal Implants and other aspects of High-tech Medicine are subjects of debate. IFOK is in charge of the conceptual design and the implementation of the dialogue processes. Each process step and their mutual coaction will be evaluated by ZIRIUS. The ongoing adaptation of the procedure is guaranteed by the process attendant evaluation, which effects an ideal implementation of the objectives. Furthermore, criteria for “Best Practice” can be established.
